Ascent Trip ReportShay (20F)(6X), Ingham (20H)(6X),
Little Shay (20G)(6X), Hawes (20I)(6X)
Scheduled hike with Mars as co-leader. Joining us was Pat Arredonda, Laura Franciosi, May Tang, Bruce Craig, Gloria Nafel, Lawrence Lee, John Tevelein, John Gustafson and John Radalj. We did the counter-clockwise route starting with a XC to Shay. Went a little higher towards a ridge going to Shay. Recommend go all the way to this ridge before turning to summit. From there it was down and over to Ingham, up to Little Shay and down to a shady spot for lunch. Mars left us at this point and Pat took over as co-leader. Crossing the creek was a push through thorns. Don’t this I went the best way. Once on the other side, started up the slope heading to a bunch of silver looking trees, looking for the use trail to the peak. Had a little trouble finding it, but once on it, it was fairly easy to follow to the summit. Followed the use trail to the meadow of Hawes Ranch. Again, lost trail almost to bottom (where we crossed our in-bound trail). Just XC to meadow then to road to cars.
