Ascent Trip Report

Granite #2 (32A)(6X)
Scheduled hike with Mars as the co-leader. Joining us was Mike Maning, Pat Arredondo, Bob Stuard and Bruce Craig. Did a pathfinder up the North side of the peak. It was 100% different. From Scissors Corner, drive about ½ mile past where the PCT crosses S2. The fence line does a 90 degree. Start on a use trail, go a short distance to an opening. Go about ½ mile on the PCT to where you go through a gate. A short distance past the date, start XC, aiming for a rocky pile just below the ridge you will be going up. You will come upon the PCT again, saving about ½ mile. Follow the PCT about 1 mile to the ridge that will take you to the summit. The fireman have cut a good use trail to the top.
