Ascent Trip Report

This was probably our worst day of hiking.1st we started up the wrong ski trail ...We were using a friends track of how they came down...Big mistake as they came down Black Diamond trail...Steep very steep :-( ....At one point about halfway up Brian & I almost gave up & stopped hiking...Glad we didn't as it was a nice day & we had a fun hike except on way down as we took the road from summit of Sugarload all the way down to base lodge & that's steep also :-( .
After hitting Sugarloaf summit we headed to Spaulding the AT trail from Sugar to Spaulding is almost like walking on a sidewalk I scared a thru hiker " Gadget" on the trail as we walked up on him ..He had his head down listening to tunes ...what a nice hike. But when we got to Spaulding spur Tr the sign said 150yds so I booked it ...It was steep & I think it was longer than 150 yds LOL
Brian & I sat took off our boots & had lunch....Then started back ...Met another thru hiker "Squirrel" ...Chatted with him & gave him as much info on trails we had done as much as we could ...Then back to Sugar & down the dam road to base ..There wer some nice views on Sugarloaf
