Ascent Trip Report

MOUNT FLAGG .... a trail climb northbound, 3.6 miles, 2:40 hours RT
We came to Mount Flagg after climbing Tate Mountain, see its TR for the driving directions to the Flagg TH. We parked next to the Merrowvista Youth Center Main Office. I signed in at the office and received all the trail information that I needed.
I climbed the yellow blazed Mt Flagg Trail climbs northbound about 1.8 miles to the summit. The first half climbs moderately steep to a trail junction with the Canaan Mtn Trail on the right, an old lean-to is at this junction. There is a short boggy/wet section here.
From this Junction the trail climbs about half a mile to a rocky ridge. The trail from the Lean-to to this rocky ridge is extremely rocky, all boulders with some scrambling, tough going. At places it was hard to follow.
From the rocky ridge the trail drops a bit, then makes its final climb to an outstanding open Rock Lookout with views of Shaw and the Lake Winnipesauke to the southwest.
The actual summit is 300 yards beyond this Lookout, some rock with limited views. I backtracked to the TH after taking a bunch of photos from the Lookout.

WALLACE HILL
On the drive south from Mount Flagg TH on Cannan Road I decided to visit this peak just west of Canaan Road. The Junction of Canaan/Sentinel Lodge Road is at the crest of Canaan Road .93 miles north of Hwy #171. The TH for this hike is a woods road on the west side of Canaan Road, 30 yards north of Sentinel Lodge Road (somewhat hidden, looks more like a trail from the road). The TH is not to be confuse with a woods road 15 yards north of the Junction.
I walked the woods road west on the ridge for .3 miles to a fork (not clear with all the fallen leaves). I stayed right and immediately bushwaked west .1 mile to the summit, a rocky ridge with some scrambling, nice southerly views.
On the way back (east) to our CG we decided to take in the following 2 peaks.

COOP HILL ..... 300 yards bushwack, 10 minutes RT.
Willand Road leaves Hwy #171 1.8 miles east of Canaan Road or 4.7 miles east of Junction #171/28 in Ossipee. We drove south .5 miles just past the crest-of-road and a house. We parked on the road side.
I bushwacked westerly 150 yards to the obvious summit in beautiful open woods, especially this time of the year, I crossed 2 woods road on the way.
Nice unique views through the tall pine tree trunks with clear land beyond, worth the visit.

NEAL HILL ......
This is actually our 3rd time driving over this road. From the Junction of Durgin Road/#171 .67 miles east of Canaan Road (or 5.8 miles west of #28/171 in Ossipee) we drove north on Durgin .68 miles to the crest-of-road, house #55 "McClure" is on the right. The obvious HP is on his property besides a stone wall, identified by a USA Flag on a steel pole. Mr McClure was proud to let me check his grounds.

We drove back to the White Lake State Park, stopping on the way for dinner at a nice family restaurant "Sadies", on hwy #16 south of Center Ossipee.

Only 2 Peaks remain to be climbed in my PB "The Ossipee List", should get them tomorrow. Apparently the weather will not be good, rain is forecasted.
