Ascent Trip Report

Came down East Pickett about 930 and made our way to the saddle to Hawkins at 10am. Not being used to the altitude (I'm from New Hampshire) the climb up through the brush was a little brutal... Passed the power hut for the towers and followed the cables up to the summit at about noon. The view was priceless (except for the radio towers) and it was 70 degrees and breezy. A little talus scramble and some tripping over brush, and we were back to the ATV trail in about 30 minutes and down to the car by 2.
