Ascent Trip Report

We picked up the key from Spring Creek Association, a very easy process. The people at the office were exceedingly friendly, and they told me they usually have a couple groups a weekend during the summer asking for keys.

We camped at the trailhead where we met a fisherman coming down from Griswold lake where he caught a 22" Lahontan, pretty impressive considering how small the lake is. We awoke early and embarked on a predawn start, quickly gaining elevation up the steep canyon. No surprises, the trail is rough and hard on the feet, but easy to follow and never too steep at least until you reach the lake. The scramble section below the high ridge was kind of fun, we were a little off route, and ended up climbing more than we had to but it was never difficult nor dangerous.

Amazing summit, awesome views in every direction. Truly one of my favorite summits and hikes. Loved it.
