Ascent Trip ReportAccidentally took this route instead of the Northeast face route, along with my daughter in dense fog/cloud cover/rain. Park ranger sent us in the wrong direction and I was unprepared and did not have my bearings do to the weather, compass issue on my watch, and lack of Topo. Many other people up there had the same issues, heading off West from Spalding and wandering around in the fog looking for Cairns. We actually almost summitted twice, because we could not find cairns in the saddle between Spalding and Evans due to the fog, and thought it might be easiest to summit again and wander around until we found the road.
