Ascent Trip ReportGot a much sought-after permit to camp in Boston Basin so we enjoyed a leisure hike in, picked a ton of huckleberries and did some yoga before climbing into our bivouac bags. We decided to get a later start in hopes that we'd be far enough behind other groups to avoid getting rock rained down on us, and our plan worked. We left upper camp about 7 a.m. placed the first piece of gear at 9:30 p.m. It was super fun, easy climbing so we simul-climbed most of it except for the cat scratch. Reached the summit about 1 p.m. and were off the rock just before 7 p.m. We reached camp just after sunset, packed up and were back at the trailhead by 11 p.m. A long day but a small sacrifice for such a classic route! |
