Ascent Trip Report

I hate failing on mountains. Trying to do Three Sisters marathon.
Why did I fail? Hiking Mount Eddy the day before on a late start (late flight in) got me to the trailhead at 11:30 PM. Too late.
For some reason I assumed the terrible traverse would be dry in September - tried to call and ask Forest Service but they didn't know. Brought ice axe and crampons but wouldn't have started on solo attempt if knew wasn't dry. Should have asked on cascadeclimbers.com.
Late start (6:15 AM) got me to Terrible Traverse behind party of 4 - a slow party belaying and falling. Didn't want to be behind them on bowling alley.
Would I have soloed the snow/ice? Not sure. Would have if dry.
My real goal was the South Sister - I thought via the traverse would be cool. Went down to ensure I got South Sister the next day.
How to succeed next time:
Ensure traverse dry or bring partner and belay.
Go mid week and start early.
Full moon is nice.
Be well rested.
Edit 2015 - I did summit the next year,
