As part of my road trip from my home town in Red Hook, NY to Los Angeles, CA where I am moving I made the journey north to Plattsburgh to partake in a Track Alumni ceremony. I spent about half a week hiking in the Adirondacks between Red Hook and Plattsburgh to finish my Fire Tower Challenges for both New York and Hamilton County. This was the fifth and final peak on my Hamilton County list and my 22 on my New York state list. After hiking Blue Mountain this morning I looked to complete my Hamilton County Fire Tower Challenge. Great hike up! The summit has a very friendly chipmunk. I watched the storm come in from the tower thinking I could get out in time. The weather app on my phone said it would rain from 4-5, well it rained from 3:57 to 4:57 so pretty spot on. Thinking I had more time I chilled at the summit with the Chipmunk and got caught in the rain. Still, a fun hike down. I have to enjoy the rain while I can before I reach southern California!
