Ascent Trip ReportThis was the second in two state park highpoint day. We visited the park and enjoy the history lesson and the cottage with park volunteers acting as if it was 1905. We were also able to go a little into the mine shaft. This mine was the richest gold field in the state at one time.
The highpoint is on the eastern edge of the park along Osborne Hill Road. You can hike to it from the main park, or drive to it, with a little under the fence action. You will park near the crest of the road and notice definite high ground just past the fence to the west. Crawl under the fence (state park boundary) and stand on the obvious high groung.
