Ascent Trip ReportMaybe my least efficient bit of peakbagging ever. I drove home Saturday from Smoky Dome due to unfavorable weather conditions and general apathy. Waking up Sunday morning and regretting my decision to leave Idaho, I hopped in my car and headed back across the stateline, this time more northerly since north Idaho is closer to Tri Cities than the Smoky Dome area. Over the course of Friday afternoon to Sunday evening I spent at least a solid 24 hours driving, and managed barely 3000 feet of elevation gain hiking. Pretty lame of me.
BTW... The drive in via 301 from Avery is much much much nicer than coming at this from Clarkia. I drove in the Clarkia route, which is pretty darned rough, and out the north route which is nice and graveled almost the entire way. |
