Ascent Trip ReportThe day started out rainy and drizzly. I took the south fork trail to the bridge just below Eagle Lake. Watered up and ate a snickers. Then picked my way through the boulder field to the old hut. From the hut I followed the trail right toward Symphony Lake. Before Symphony lake one of the trails cut up to the right of the point and to the left of the ridge. I would recommend heading straight to the base of the saddle, there is a good sheep trail on the back side that takes you toward the base (~4,600ft) of the steep hiking. The route finding just after is the most tricky of the whole hike. At about 4,900ft the trail gets less tricky. At 5,500ft cut right to access the scree slope to the summit. |
