Ascent Trip Reportwell number 3 for the Sixer challenge done, feels good half way there , it rained all night before we did this one so the trail was a muddy and slippery mess other than that its a nice hike all the way to the split for McKenzie was fairly level you actually went down hill ( which sucks for the hike back )to a cool little dam once u cross that it just gets steeper as you go up until u finally hit the top. The cooler temps and the chance of rain must have had everyone else inside because we had the summit to ourselves for at least 10 mins and that's a first but there was a lot of other hikers on the Mt. good views from the top u can see the prison very well ( I think its ray brook prison )tried some hiking poles on this one still not sure if I like them or not ill keep you posted on that |
