Ascent Trip ReportTracy Foutz, his brother Eric and I decided to go get this one since it was a good prominence peak located in Utah Valley. Unfortunately we picked the opening day of bow hunting season and the mountain area of the Nebo Loop road was a zoo of people. Once we got going on the trail (see Eric Willhite's fine trip report http://www.willhiteweb.com/utah_climbing/bald_mountain/wasatch_hiking_219.htm)
We found where the trail starts at the campsite area on the right side of the road as Eric mentioned and it was a straight forward hike from that point. It got steep in a couple places but the footing was always good and the scenery always fantastic. Nice views from the summit and we found one witness marker and a register that was in pretty bad shape. We did meet a couple huntenrs on the middle to upper reaches of the mountain but they were looking for deer, not summits. Fantastic weather and great companions.
