Ascent Trip ReportAs far as I can determine, Rabun Bald is the 2nd highest named highpoint in Georgia. This climb was a pleasant surprise. The trail was great, the hike was very enjoyable and the view from the top of the summit tower was fantastic. The trailhead is easily found using past log reports from this website (34.979507N, 83.303285W). You will have a small problem here determining the access route, however, since there is a fork with 5 different route possibilities. All you need to do is simply continue in the same direction that the paved road you were driving on was headed. After hiking in this direction about 50 feet, you will see a Rabun Bald trailhead sign on the left allowing you to feel comfortable that you are on the proper route. There is not a lot of parking available at the trailhead of the 5-way junction, so be careful parking, so that you do not block any of the lanes of the local residents and this easy Rabun Bald access route can remain open in the future.
