Ascent Trip Report

A very strenuous solo approach via Galene Lakes, Silver Ridge and the steep, brushy headwall below Silver Lake. Probably the wildest place I have been in the lower 48...

Camped at outlet of Silver Lake. From camp traversed above the lake and gained the southwest ridge near point 8385 just beyond the west end of the lake. As reported by others the ridge is extremely loose and steep in places with a section where it dropped off that was particularly bad.
