Ascent Trip ReportHad to get up at 3am to get to the trailhead by 6:45. Only 7 spots remained on a Monday, so get a reservation prior to your trip! Fun climb, the Knife Edge is solid, maybe hard Class 2, easy Class 3, but obvious and not that exposed. Very much like a Sierra climb, lots of granite, some talus and scree, lots of the climb above treeline. Going down was a disappointment. The Saddle trail is literally a rockfall scar, loose and steep. After it eases, it is still a few miles of jumbles boulders and rocks. Hard on the ankles and knees. |
