Ascent Trip ReportAlso known as Kaaterskill High Peak.
Hiked with Fiona, Eamonn, Vito, Amanda, Darren Jr. Used the North Access route that you can see here : http://www.catskillmountaineer.com/KM-KHPnorth.html.
We bushwacked down the mountain using map and compass and BCN Pro on my SGS3 as a backup.
Found the Indian Trail & camp, 1 Plane crash, and lots of stinging nettles while wearing shorts.
Amanda sprained her ankle after summiting, I taped it up and she impressed me by toughing it out and making it down like a trooper.
Thunderstorm in late afternoon. Our last 20 mins or so. Hardest rain I ever saw in my life while I was driving home on Taconic. One section of Taconic was dirt for about 40 yds from washout on side of road
No views since we were in the clouds.
