Ascent Trip Report#Stravaoritdidnthappen!!
Started the triple summit attempt at the Lake Blanche trail head in Big Cottonwood Canyon. From the parking lot, I reached the lakes in 58 min. I crossed the outlet damn from Lake Blanche to get a better view of Dromedary East peak's ridge line and to scout out the route. Following the stream leading down from the direction of the ridge, it pretty much paralleled Sundial peak to the east and I worked my way up to the ridge. Where I joined the spine it left me less than a hundred yards to the summit (time elapsed - 2:03:45). Quick photo and I continued over to the summit of Dromedary (time elapsed - 2:35:10). Working the ridge between Dromedary and Sunrise was a little more difficult and took more time than I planned. Guide book said class 3/4, I'd agree and possibly add some small class 5 during the descent to the saddle before ascending Sunrise peak. Reached Sunrise in the elapsed time to grab all three summits of 3:14:55. Took my time on the way down, took a loose scree field and boulder field to meet up with the Broads Fork Trail, which leads back to the same parking lot at Lake Blanche (Mill B Trail Head). Great hike, tricky ridge lines, exposed trail between peaks...dreamy ski lines for next winter.
