Ascent Trip ReportUnder overcast skies, my friend Greg Brown and I made the long, gradual hike to the summit of Cat Mountain. Trail conditions were good, though heavy rains on the descent created numerous puddles on the trails. Nearly all of the elevation gain with this hike comes in the final 1/2 mile or so. Views of the open summit rocks were expansive but variable, given the movement of a regional storm system.
