Ascent Trip Report

My Thursday hiking club went up Yerba to LObo Peak and down Manzanita. I did the same hike last month. This group is quick; I fell behind but still made it up Lobo about 3/4 of an hour faster than last month. I only spent about 15 minutes on top because the weather seemed to be turning.

The Yerba trail starts out slowly--about 1100 feet elevation gain in the first two miles--but is then very steep up to the junction with the Manzanita Trail, over 20% grade.

My mileage was a little less than the last trip where I took a slight detour along the ridge to Perra Peak and walked part of the way from one trailhead to the other
