Ascent Trip ReportWe decided to be ambitious and climb lower wolfjaw, upper wolfjaw, Armstrong, gothics, and sawteeth. Then spend the night near Indian head then climb Colvin and Blake. Although exhausting, we succeeded on a great weather weekend. The hike was strenuous at times and had many scrambles that made it challenging.
Parked at St Hubert's and started at 845am. Reached LWJ at 1145 without any great views. UWJ at 125 with great views. Armstrong at 230 with great views. Gothics at 320 with some of the best views of the peaks we've ever had. Then over pyramid (amazing views) to Sawteeth at 520. We stopped at the top of each peak for 15-20 minutes. We got to camp at 830.
In the morning, we started at 5 am and reached Colvin after sunrise at 620 am. The views were also amazing as we were able to see all of the peaks from the day before. After Colvin we dropped off the backpacks and got to Blake at 750. The views were minimal. We then headed back to camp, packed up, and got back to st. Hubert at 1. The walk on Lake road to the parking lot was a hard and grueling 3 miles. Our feet were hurting. If you can bring a comfortable pair of sneakers for that section, do it.
