Ascent Trip ReportOriginal plans were to summit via the south west face, our party decided to approach the west ridge route via a gulley from the scree slope. This resulted in 5th class climbing on loose and icy rock which made for a difficult ascent. One of our party was hit with a falling rock which severely damaged his helmet. The rest of the ascent to the ridge was a steep snow climb. Once the col was reached our party was stopped on the ridge due to ice and snow on difficult 5th class climbing areas. The decent was a very steep down climb on snow averaging 50 degrees down the west couloir.
