Ascent Trip ReportDeparted Lincoln Woods at about 6:20 ish am, meet "Ed" who offered to show me the Black Pond bushwhack. We completed bushwhack and arrived at the cairn for the slide about 3 hours after leaving the parking lot. At this point Ed, who has climbed this before, went on ahead and I and my bad knee/ knee brace made our way to the summit, arriving about 11 am. Ed had been there, apologized for having to leave but had a date with his wife at 3 pm. I ate lunch, took a few pictures, and started down about 20 minutes later. It was very cold right on top in the wind. The herd trails were a bit more ddifficult to traverse on the way back so I got "turned around" two or three times before finding the cairn that marked the top of the steep section. I followed the trail, the the Fishermans bushwhack to Franconia Falls, andthen on out, arriving at my car about 3:15 or so.
