Ascent Trip Report

We spent the weekend at Paddy Creek campground. We did a few miles on the Big Piney Trail from the Roby Lake Trail Head. From there I bushwhacked North to Northwest to summit the highest point in the Paddy Creek Wilderness. This page has the high point just East of the Ranger lookout tower at 1380+. The lookout tower is gated and locked, so an accent has to be done front Roby Lake TH. According to my research and the current Wilderness boundary though, there are contour lines over 1400' just South of where this page is calling the high point. So I would call the true summit 1430+ located at UTM 15S 577176E 4153960N. It is a difficult bushwhack with lots of poison ivy; an early Spring summit or Winter summit would be much more enjoyable.
