Peishan, Sugar and I started up the Dicey’s Mill Trail at 8:40am. You pass a couple houses with signs saying “Hikers Welcome”. We made our way up to the junction with Tom Wiggin Trail arriving at 9:34. The sign for the Tom Wiggin Trail has this on it “Not Recommended, Steep and Loose”. The trail was steep in some spots and also was mostly soil and roots. It reminded me of a Adirondack trail in New York with close trees on both sides of the trail. We took the Wiggin trail up to Blueberry Ledge trail arriving at 10:41. We took some pictures and then continued up Whiteface. The views from Whiteface Ledges are outstanding. We took a number of picture and passed a number of hikers. We arrive on the peak at 11:33 and found BM number 2. We ate lunch and took some pictures. We took the Rollins Trail to Passaconaway. We came to the Dicey’s Milk trail at 1:17 and then the first junction up Passaconaway. Take the right and follow the sign that says Cam Rich Mount Passaconaway trail. We arrived on the peak of Passaconaway at 1:57. Passaconaway is a fully wooded peak with no views. There is a small cairn on the peak. There are a couple of view points around the peak with views to the West (Tripyramids) and North (Bonds and Presidential’s). We made our way down the east loop to Walden Trail. We took Walden trail over Nanamocomuck peak. Right on the other side of Nanamocomuck there is a large elevation drop. We then came to the junction of the Walden Trail and Wonalancet trail at 3:36. We continued on the Wonalancet trail over Mount Hibbard (the peak is alittle off the west side of the trail) and continued on over Mount Wonalancet. We were on top of Wonalancet at 4:35. We continued down the back side of Wonalancet and there was a great ledge area with good views to the east. We continued down the to parking lot arriving at 5:50pm.
Overall it was a great hike! We had good weather and bagged two high peaks and two minor peaks.
