Ascent Trip ReportMade several mistakes on this hike into the bonds. Only brought 1 pair of extra socks, which was not enough, and no polyporpaline socks. Started at 5:10 am , using a headlamp in the dark. There was no snow along the Lincoln Woods Trail and Wilderness Trail. Once I reached higher elevations, there was snow. Instead of powdery snow, the warmer weather had made the snow slushy and sticky. It would stick to my hiking boots, where my boots would get saturated with weather. Put on snowshoes at the higher elevation, but had to take them off along the Bondcliff ridge as there was a lot of exposed rock. Reached summit at 10:53am. Sunny.
On the way back, learned that stream crossings grow during the course of the day. Spent about 10 minuets while tired, trying to find a river crossing before crossing an ice bridge. Poked it with my poles a lot before putting my weight on it, but did manage to cross it. Sketchy.
Did not see anybody until reaching the parking lot.
