Ascent Trip Report

Began hike at noon. Weather ominous-looking. No snow on ground till just past the white bark pine forest. 5+ feet snow in last 200ish feet of summit push. Slight rain about 500 feet from summit, turning to snow around 100 feet from summit and persisting to top. At summit, heard thunder and immediately began descent. Small ice storm for 200ish feet of descent, then all precipitation ceased as clouds rolled by. Amazing view of Electric Peak's East slope from the summit. Wonderful variety of landscapes: from open meadows with wildflowers to white bark pine forests to steep rocky cliffs.
