Ascent Trip Report

Col Visentin: 1763m, P1295m

Map: Tabacco 1:25k map 24 (25m contours).

Stats: Drive-up, 10mH

Time: Thur 28 Aug 2008.

Start: Village of Menegon, above A27 junction Vittorio Veneto Nord.

Route: Once at Menegon, on the 1:25 map the route is evident, consisting of a dirt roads, involving many zig-zags, leading to the Refugio Visentin situated a few metres below the summit.

Difficulties: Careful map reading is required; the road is fairly rough, but passable with a normal 2WD car.

Triangulation point: mapped, none found. I searched for a bolt, without success.

Summit: Grassy hilltop cluttered with buildings; nice views along and from ridge; fairly hazy.

Notes: After a fairly tough ascent of Col Nudo in the morning, we spent the afternoon mostly driving, navigating our way to this summit, then to the equally undemanding Monte Grappa. The summit Refugio was a nice place for lunch.
