Ascent Trip Report

I used trip reports from Petter Bjorstad (http://www.ii.uib.no/~petter/mountains/2000mtn/psiloritis.html) and Rob Woodall (http://peakbagger.com/climber/ascent.aspx?aid=235079) in my research. Thank you, gentlemen.

For our drive, we used our Crete map to get to the mountain town of Livadia. Be careful, this is not the only Livadia in Crete but it is the one just north of the peak. In town we headed south (there are several options) and started finding signs to Refugio Migerou (some of them also mentioned Psiloritis). These led us on a paved road all the way to the parking lot by the refugio structures. From here, a good trail leads to the ridge and then the peak - see my GPS track.

On this date in late May, there were a couple of snowfields to cross, one of which would have caused problems if one were to slip. But there was no reason to slip there, and we didn't. Poles were a comfort for those of us with older knees.
