Ascent Trip ReportMy friend Greg Brown and I approached Mitchell Ponds from a trailhead (for what is considered a snowmobile trail north of our destination; at approximately 1.5 miles in, we bushwhacked the rest of the way on a southerly course to the summit and overlooks on Mitchell Ponds Mountain. A steady downpour of rain blanketed us during the most difficult portion of the hike but we managed some nice summit views during a few precious moments of clear skies.
Important note: be ready to get WET when hiking this trail from the north. Bridges are in a rather shoddy state of maintenance and one of the bridges ends at the water's edge, required a tricky ford over a nearby small natural damn.
