Ascent Trip ReportAfter Mount Disappointment and Mount Markham I walked up the trail to top of Mount Lowe. Going up the trail on the east side of the peak was hot. The cool west wind was blocked and the temperatures rose above 90. The summit was littered with man made stuff including a metal bench. The hot metal bench dried off my wet shirt from the walk up. It was probably in the low 70's on top, cooled down by the west wind off the marine layer sitting over the valley. Interesting views, nice look at Mount San Antonia.
After Mount Lowe I bagged San Gabriel Peak, a nice walk up from the Markham, Lowe saddle creating an excellent 12 mile hike with 3,350 feet of elevation gain.
