Ascent Trip ReportI finally bagged this neat semi-local peak!
I set out on the woods road to the top at around 9:30 AM. It made a series of left and right turns at junctions with other woods and skid roads all the way to the summit with a mostly easy grade. About halfway up, I crossed a field and made a left-hand turn onto the road, then made a right-hand turn at a junction with another road. After passing a talus field, I veered left onto a shortcut path and came out onto the road further up, thus saving some distance. The road made a 180 turn past a clearing with a big rock, then intersected with another woods road (this one went downhill to the right and uphill to the left). I turned left and followed the road past and over some rocky outcrops to the top, where there were excellent views for modest effort. The Wapack Range, Mt. Monadnock, Crotched Mtn. Mt. Kearsarge, Rose Mtn, the Uncanoonucs and Joe English Hill were all visible. I didn't stay too long, as it was windy and I had to run an errand later on, so I took in the view one last time and then headed back down.
