Ascent Trip Report

Really nice hike on a seldom traveled trail. It's a shame this peak doesn't have a name because it is a great peak. The register is in an old ammo box--lots of little treasures in that box; I left a contribution as well.

Hike up 1N38 about 50 yards; the road turns left--go left. There is a road that comes in from the right, but go left and hike uphill to the TH for Heart Bar (now indicated by a duck and orange trail tape). immediately after the Heart Bar TH, the road makes a sharp 180 degree left turn and starts up. The trail is fairly steep most of the way to the peak, but it is worth the climb. Take the road until it ends, then climb over the first little bump, keep going, climb a few rocks and you'll be on 8868. Such a nice hike--peaceful with great views. One of the nicest peaks I've climbed.
