Ascent Trip Report

Very hot day for a hike. I started in the morning shade and was sweating profusely within 30 minutes. Wore nothing more than a t-shirt all day. Snow was soft but climbable. No ice axe or crampons needed. I pulled the axe out in case I needed it to climb the steep 20 ft section above the notch, but left it holstered between my pack and my back. As usual, I had GPS problems where it showed the wrong position and wrong elevation. 2 different re-sets and it was more accurate. Whatever... Best part of all, this was a grudge peak from my failed ascent in March 2013 with Sam Hahn. This is an outstanding day hike!
