Ascent Trip ReportWent up from the west side of Garnet Lake at the end of Cross Rd. The woods were reasonably open, with lots of uneven rocks under the thin layer of soil. There were more Spruce trees and lots of sign of moose the higher up you go. The summit has a number of open rock, but the views weren't as good as you might expect. There was a cairn at the summit, and some small cairns indicating a faint trail leading east off the summit. I did not follow this trail, as it was 6pm and the trail was too indistinct to risk following it to an unknown destination. Made it up in 1:30, and back to the car in 1:00. |
