Ascent Trip ReportSome writers of previous trip reports found the expansive sweep of the plains here appealing, but it seemed underwhelming to me. Twenty miles on dirt and gravel roads from the interstate; at least Kansas and Iowa--similar flat plains state high points have an array of kitschy decorations. Only a little monument and a desk with the visitor log here. Still I'm grateful it's open to visitors. SHP #25 for me. I've done most of the easy one--it will start getting tougher for me. |
