Ascent Trip Report

The day was chilly when we arrived at the trailhead first thing in the morning. There were already a few cars in the lot by 830am. The climb up was steady and fairly easy, apart from numerous spots where the ice made it tough to find a safe way up. micro spikes made the going much easier than it would have been otherwise. One terrific lookout part way up, and the last .3mi is a lovely scramble. By the time we started descending, the trail was getting a little crowded, and the melting ice was leaving plenty of mud behind. Great choice for a first 46er.
