Ascent Trip ReportLocated about 20km north of Truro off of hwy #311. It's a drive-up on a very rough road. This is the 22nd day of our trip "Maritime 1999".
While at the tourist information center in New Glasgow I was put in touch with Michael Haynes, who has written 2 books on hiking in Nova Scotia. He told me how to get to the mainlands Highest Point, Mount Nuttby.
I found my way to the village of Nuttby, located about 20km north of Truro on hwy #311. Take the dirt service road, west of the Church, signed "Old Nuttby Road", and drive on it as far as you can. It is a very rough road, I drove to within 1/2km of the summit and walked the rest of the way. There a number of communication towers on top. Find your way to the Highpoint.
The next mountain will be Cadillac Mountainin in ME, USA.
