Ascent Trip Report

I probably took the longest route to the summit of Mazatzal, but it was a great hike. The hike up the canyon is a very popular weekend hike passing beautiful rocky formations and a small waterfall. On the upper mountain after I left the trail, the brush and trees were burned in a forest fire. There is one area where I had to step over a couple hundred downed trees. Nice long hike, but a bit windy. I wouldn't do this one on a hot day.
