Ascent Trip Report

There is now a sign at the trailhead, but not at the parking lot. The trailhead is about 0.1 mile down the gravel road. There is room for 4 cars to park off the gravel road, but better just to walk down. A dozen blowdowns across the trail, but they've been there for years.
Clear day in the CRG. Good views all around, but you'll need to move around the trees to get them all. The tops of Mt Adams and Mt St Helens stood out, but Mt Hood cannot be seen.
Sections of this trail are on hardpack dirt, sometimes steep and slanted. Best to let it dry out a few days.
Mountain lives up to its name. Despite relatively calm down in the gorge, wind was strong and persistent
up top.
