Ascent Trip Report

The name "Glade Mountain" is not marked on the topo, though "The Glade" is marked on a valley to the southeast. Listsofjohn calls this peak 3660. It's the highest point on the Eastern Continental Divide between NC9 (Lakey Gap) and I-40 (Swannanoa Gap).

I did this as part of the Swannanoa Valley Museum's series of monthly Rim Hike series, which accesses the ridge from private land. For public access, start on High Rock Acres Road (off NC9 south of Lackey Gap) at the gated road that accesses the communications towers on the summit. I would estimate about 1.6 miles round trip with 550 feet climbing. If you continue to unranked Evans Knob, it would be about 3 miles roundtrip. The ridgeline path is steep in places.
