Ascent Trip Report

Began at trailhead where I parked the Jeep. Cool morning, yet somewhat of a late start as the temp was supposed to be in the low 90's. (Hot winter here in SoCal as it's mid March)
Walked up the canyon bearing to the left and ascended the peak directly in front of me facing westerly direction as the canyon fork petered out. Climbed to immediate saddle then headed west southwest to several false peaks. Followed ridge line and four or five false peaks before getting to actual summit. Beautiful views of San Felipe Valley, Pinyon Mt., Laguna Mts, Cuyamaca Mt as well. Great mountain to climb. Spent 30 min or so glancing through the register, ate an orange, and headed back down. I decided not to descend the same way so remained on ridge line and several minor peaks further east north east of where I ascended. Bagged peaks 5184 (Prov) and 4624 (Prov). Great, great hike!
