Ascent Trip Report

Parked in Arkengarthdale at Langthwaite. Walked via paths along the west ridge of Booze Moore. After crossing minor road weather began to deteriorate with snow falling heavily and visibility closing in. By using compass bearings found trig with viewing down to 15ft. Walked SW for 100m then headed due South. This should have taken me over the summit but as visibility was nearly zero can not be sure. However head and most of body would have been above it. After 30 mins of trudging in deep snow and falling down many covered holes the minor road was reached. By the time the car was reached a lens had fallen out of my glasses in the extreme cold unbeknown to me. The drive back to Dousgill Farm was interesting with visibility on the A66 such that the bonnet of the car was not always visible. Still only slid off the road once. Dumped car at Newsham and walked the rest in time to see in the new millennium.
