Ascent Trip Report

I parked at the same saddle Dennis Poulin did, and for the same reason. There wer few snow patches on the road either before or after this spot, but there was one nasty icy patch at a narrow steep sloped section just past my parking spot.
The walk up from there was memorable in that a storm front literally hit as I ascended. I started in warmer conditions where I could see mountains twenty miles away, and summited in temps probably 20 degrees colder, with strong gusts, intermittent flurries and white outs.
The ugly storage box on the summit is no longer there. I could not find the benchmark but with the weather I did not exactly spend a lot of time looking. There is a register in a plastic jar where I signed in.
On the return I saw an unnecessary hairpin turn in the road which I cut across. Without that one ice patch on the road I could have easily driven to the summit. The road is that good.
