Ascent Trip ReportI decided to do a quick hike up Joe English Hill before my last class of the day started.
I parked at the end of Summit Drive and headed up a driveway a short distance before veering left onto a woods road, which made a relatively easy ascent to a construction area. There was an abandoned truck and numerous pieces of equipment scattered about. I turned left uphill at the truck and followed the road, which became steeper in places. I soon entered some nice woods and started hiking on an actual trail. Near the top, I came to a nice viewpoint toward Crotched Mountain.
The summit wasn't officially marked but contained a lot of rocks. I explored the area a little bit, eventually ending at the Adirondack chairs, where there was an excellent view of the Uncanoonucs and the Belknaps. After resting for a few, I headed back down the way I came.
