Ascent Trip ReportSaturday we hiked in from the Denning Road parking lot to the primitive camp sites by the Neversink River, and just set up camp for the day. The original plan was to hike Lone and Rocky on Saturday, but with snow in the morning, it delayed our drive up in the morning and would not have given us enough time to summit both mountains before dark. So instead we set out early Sunday morning, initially failing miserably with finding the fisherman's path, then finally finding it after seeing another group's footprints on the other side of the river. We then followed their tracks along the fisherman's path until the mossy stream on the right of the path, about a mile from the campsites. We took a right and started climbing up the ridge line straight at the peak.We ran into the group ahead of us just a few hundred feet before the canister, and followed them to the summit. No views at the top, just a slight clearing around the canister.
