Ascent Trip ReportMade it to Saddle out and back from the M. My best guess is 14 miles for a rt distance. Snow conditions were good once I climbed about 500 vertical feet above the M (sheet ice below that). Lots of cornices on the ridge, particularly on the N end of Baldy. Put on snowshoes past the false summit of Baldy and wore them to a point near Bridger Peak, then did the same on the return. Pretty sure the N summit of Saddle is the higher, despite the benchmark location on the S summit. Takes about 90 seconds to walk between them. This was a beautiful hike on a flawless day. I could see Granite Peak in the Beartooths and Table Mountain near Butte, among hundreds of other peaks.
