Ascent Trip ReportHalcott became the 11th of the Catskill winter peaks for us to summit. The winter hike actually made it an easier ascent with the majority of the vegetation being dead and the snow on the ground allowed the ability to follow tracks. We parked at the parking lot on 42 by the falls and headed up from there. A group of ADK 46ers made the climb ahead of us, so following their trail made the ascent a walk in the woods. We met the group at the top, signed the canister, and headed straight back down to head over to Vly and Bearpen. Round trip was just shy of 3 hours.
